Your online business: Where to start?

So where are you going to start to build you a successful online business?
No, it’s not the: do keywordresearch, register a domainname and take a cheap hostingaccount.
If you’re serious about building a succesful longterm online business than you need first some other things. First of all, start with:
1. The right mindset
If you want to start an online business you will have to start first with the right mindset. What do I mean by that? The truth is, to become successful you must not think that you are going to do internet marketing. Why not? Internet marketing is all about trying to sell something on the internet. Very anonimous. If you are going to start like that than it’s gonna be quite difficult for you.
But what is the right mindset? Start to think of being valuable to other people. Yep, on the other site of the screen there are actually real persons with there real questions and there real problems and dreams. So treat them that way. If you start with that mindset than you can begin to build a home-based business which is gonna make you money.
2. Taking action – Stepping out of your comfortzone
Taking action is the only way to set you of the crowd and will make you a winner. Taking action means also that you will have to go outside your comfort zone.
What is that: your comfort zone? First let’s take a look what Wikipedia has to say:
“The comfort zone is a behavioural state within which a person operates in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviors to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk (White 2009).”
A “neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviours”.
Well this is not gonna help us to become succesful. What does Wikipedia say more? :
“A person’s personality can be described by his or her comfort zones. Highly successful persons may routinely step outside
their comfort zones, to accomplish what they wish. A comfort zone is a type of mental conditioning that causes a person to create and operate mental boundaries.”
Okay, so actually we will have to do things which we normally don’t do. Different actions creates different outcome. So, in other words: if you’re not succesful at this moment you will have to do different things in order to get a different outcome.
Have you tried to sell stuff on the internet or have you tried to deliver as much as possible value to other people? Actually helping
people? Me as well have to go way out of my comfortzone. I’m telling everything about myself in public. Heck, the whole world can read it! But it feels good.
Now that I’m thinking over it, I feel myself more free. That’s really cool.
And now it’s your turn:
Start your internet business with answering to following questions:
- what kind of value can I add, how can I help other people?
- in what ways can I deliver that value?
Try to go out of your comfortzone and come up with some great stuff.

What a cool first blog article you have just written here, congratulations!
I have found that I make stronger connections with online entrepreneurs that walk the walk instead of those that just say how fearless they are but do nothing to prove it.
To answer your questions:
1.- what kind of value can I add, how can I help other people?
A: I have been helping others by showing them my own flaws and overcoming them in my own blog.
2.- in what ways can I deliver that value?
A: With Video and through blog posts.
I was petrified of doing video so I made a public challenge for myself and I documented the whole experience from day one.
(Needless to say, many of my readers are making videos now, so it does work)
Last but not least, again I want to congratulate you on this very cool article Catharina…
I really liked your mindset and your writing tone, it just rocks!

I’m always helping someone with technical problems, writing, marketing questions, and relationships. That’s why I created my 2 blogs to post information on those things, but am trying to figure out how to blend the two together.
- in what ways can I deliver that value?
Definitely by helping others and offering services to them. Once they trust me, it’d be a shame to leave them struggling so by offering services, that benefits me ($) and helps them.

Some awesome stuff in this post, if everyone had the right mindset and took action, there would be so many more success stories, however sadly we know this isn’t always the case..
Taking action is one of the most important aspects of online marketing, you may make a wrong move, but you suddenly feel the joys of actually doing something and moving forward with your business. Some highly reputable marketers have said taking imperfect action was their greatest move of all with internet marketing…
